Cimone's Going Away Dinner and our trip to Laidley

On Saturday night I went out with some of my mother's group friends for Cimone's farewell dinner. She is moving to Canberra in about three weeks.

We went to The Boatshed at the Regatta Hotel in Toowong. The food and the company were great.

Clockwise L to R: Leah, me, Cimone, Emma, Kate and Karen

Unfortunately I got home to a sick little boy - Liam had a fever and quite a chesty cold, and he had a very unsettled night.

He's much better now though and was well enough today to enjoy a lovely morning tea / lunch with my friends Rachel and Jenni, and Lachy who is 19m.o. and Anika who is 7m.o.

Yesterday we took a Sunday drive to Laidley / Ipswich / Esk. Don't ask me why we ended up out there ... I casually mentioned that I'd never been to Ipswich before and next thing I knew the car was packed and we were on our way. Thanks to a local's tip (thanks Kerryn) we had a great lunch at a pub in Laidley called the QN. Highly recommended if you're ever out that way.

Hiding under the BBQ ... look how sneaky I am!!

Can you tell Zane and I only had about 3 hours sleep the night before??

Enjoying the slide in Laidley central.

Liam's Big Boy's Bed

With time moving along, we decided to get Liam settled in his new Big Boy's Bed well before No. 2 arrives and shatters the peace.

Liam had a hard time saying goodbye to his beloved cot but we got there in the end. He loves jumping on his new bed and reading books on it.... hopefully sleeping on it will become another passion in time!!!

With the weather getting cooler, we have had to start rugging up in the mornings. Liam loves his new dressing gown and slippers which have very funky little red cars on them.

Q2 Solutions 10 Year Anniversary

On Saturday 19th April Q2 Solutions celebrated their 10 year anniversary in style by hosting a cocktail party for the combined Q2/Payroll Solutions team at a venue in the city overlooking the river and the Story Bridge. A great time was had by all.

There was a bit of mild panic prior to the event when I realised I had nothing to wear! But a quick trip up to Chermy sorted that problem out and I was very pleased with my dress which accommodated the bump nicely. The shoes looked fabulous but were torturous by the end of the night! Oh well a small price to pay really.

Mum and Dad very kindly offered to babysit for us. Dad got my blood pressure to dangerous levels when I rang for the obligatory 'check-in' call at 8pm, saying that there had been all sorts of terrible things going on, but further investigation revealed that he was just pulling our leg ... phew...

Well done to Zane, Brent and the team at Q2 for a magnificent effort on achieving the 10 year milestone. It is so hard for small businesses to succeed these days, and Q2 have done it in style, and keep going from strength to strength. I am so proud of my gorgeous husband for all the hard work he has put in to make Q2 what it is today ... congratulations!
