Jet Skiing Adventures!

We had a delightful day a few weeks ago down on the Gold Coast with Zane's Dad, Jacki and Chae. Paul had acquired a new jet ski (birthday present to himself) and my boys were anxious to give it a test run. I wasn't going to, but it looked like so much fun that I got talked into going for a spin on the Spit with Jacki. It was a really windy, rainy day and the Spit was super choppy, so it was a case of hanging on for dear life and getting drenched with salt spray! Great fun.

The boys coming in to the jetty ... and zooming straight past it...
That water is cold, Dad!!!!
Fuelling up for the next round.

Long Hot Summer

What is a boy to do on those long, hot, endless summer days?

Run around in the nuddy, splashing in the water ...

Go on, give us a kiss! You know you want to!

Invite our friends over to play (Jenni's baby Cameron)

... and Kerryn's twins Sarah and Chloe

... and Emma's baby Darcey.

We could smear chocolate all over our faces! And the table! And the floor!
We could pull the couch apart and make a cushion mountain!

We could draw pictures all over the wardrobe! That is sure to get Mum's attention!

... and if that doesn't work, we could always draw on each other's faces!!

Or we could go back to more traditional methods of entertainment and build funny cars with our Klipo blocks.
We hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! Watch this space for our Christmas blog, coming soon!

Melbourne Cup Day

While "the other half" donned their finest for the races and rubbed shoulders with racing's elite, circumstances dictated that we had to have our celebrations at home. There was only one horse in the race and he was a bit of an old knacker. In fact he collapsed after only one lap and the boys had to dig the spurs in to get him going again!!

At the start line - things looking good

No falls yet, all going well!

Drama on the track! A collapse!

A good tickle and the old nag was up again.

More Twin Waters

Mum and Dad went back to the Masons on Friday morning and Zane came up to join us for the weekend. We spent the day at the beach on Saturday and the boys built a wading pool, it was loads of fun!

Mum and Dad's visit - trip to Twin Waters

While Mum and Dad were here recently we went up to Twin Waters for a couple of days. It was very nice and relaxing and the weather was great. We had lots of bike riding around the lagoon, Liam had a ride on the sailing boat with Grandad, and there was heaps of lazing around not doing much at all. Would you believe this is the only photo I got of Mum and Dad with the boys while they were here, shame. Liam's happy face is hiding under the couch somewhere. The look on Dad's face says it all!!!! The boys having a snack after their watersports
Liam and Grandad hitting the lagoon

They boys having a rare quiet moment (yes the TV is on!!)

Bed time cuddles and milk

I can confirm it was a great holiday because Zane and I both stacked on the weight while M&D were here and we are now in serious damage control!!!!!!

New fort

While Mum and Dad were here, Zane took advantage of the extra pairs of hands around and enlisted Dad to help him finish off the fort that he built for Liam and James. Zane designed it himself and built it from scratch. Looks good doesn't it! The boys are loving it.

We went to a local fete recently and Liam had a crocodile painted on his face. As you can see by the time I got around to taking pictures he had licked off most of its head and teeth!! The boys are (finally) starting to play nicely together and we have really been enjoying the domesticated bliss. Wonder how long it will last??

Still here!

I made some Thomas the Tank Engine PJ's for Liam recently - here he is having his first wear of them. Very excited! Not being a natural at this sewing business, there was a lot of un-picking and head-scratching before they were finally completed. (Note to self: do not attempt to sew after a couple of glasses of wine!!!)

Father's Day 2009 and other stuff

Zane had a nice Father's Day this year. The boys gave him lots of cuddles and kisses and we went down to Paul and Jacki's place on the Gold Coast for the day. Jacki cooked a great lunch for us and it was a beautiful, sunny day. The only thing missing was my Dad, who was in transit on a boat delivery, off the east coast of NZ with his Thinking Man's Club, aka Dad's Army.

Preparations for the big day ... a spot of painting for Daddy...

... while James looked on excitedly Liam and James loved helping Daddy open his present - a Stig mouse and mousemat

Lunch time at Mermaid Waters

Digging in the sand

Having a chat with G-G
Gone fishin'

Lunch time for James with Chae helping ...

... then more digging in the sand...

Since Liam joined his new swimming club, he has been going ahead in leaps and bounds. He recently graduated to lessons without Daddy in the pool. He is really enjoying it. He has a bit of a crush on his teacher, Kayla - she's a real sweetheart!

Ann came down to stay for a couple of nights and Brent and Penny came over for dinner. The nibbles plate Penny brought over was a huge hit, especially with the boys!

My friend Kezza (with the twins) turned 30! Her husband Charlie organised a surprise party at a restaurant called Roma's. To throw her off the scent I organised an afternoon tea at our place the day before the big day.
Kylie cooked a yummy white chocolate mudcake. We only had 29 candles but I don't think Kezza noticed.

The girls at dinner
At our place for morning tea. Kezza with Chloe (Sarah stayed home with Daddy), Karen with Kylie's baby Jack, and yours truly with the two rascals!

The boys (distracted by the footy)

So I think that just about brings us up to date. We are enjoying spending some time with Kerrie and Soph and Tobe while they are on school holidays. Our next big excitement is Mum and Dad's arrival in a couple of weeks!

Don't really have anything to report but wanted to put these pics of the boys on. The first is James playing with the eggs Grandma and Grandad gave him for his birthday, which he absolutely loves to organise and tidy. He also loves wearing my beads!
The second is of the boys at Toby's soccer game last week enjoying a snow cone.
The third is James enjoying the swing and showing off his toothy smile!
