Easter Sunday
Well I thought I would shock you all with my THIRD blog for the Easter weekend!
On Sunday we drove down to Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast to visit Paul, Jacki and Chae at their new beach-side townhouse. It is a two-storey townhouse with direct beach access and ocean views from every room overlooking the Spit, very nice. They even have their own private jetty! Just what every home needs. Now all they need is a boat and they will be all set.
In the morning Jacki had organised an Easter egg hunt, and a few of their friends came over, with their extended families and there ended up being quite a few kids all very excited about the hunt. Liam was a bit slower than the bigger kids but managed to find a couple of eggs, and the other kids were very nice and graciously handed over some eggs to Liam to even up the tally a bit. Meanwhile, James looked on from his play mat, gurgling away happily! Then it was champers and hot cross buns all round.
Everyone left after that (except for us) and we had a nice lunch of sausages in bread on the brand new BBQ. Liam and Chae had a play on the beach after lunch while James had a sleep. Liam waded in to the water and nearly drowned so I had to go racing in there - fully clothed! and pluck him out of the water and save him from certain death! While I struggled to get my BP back down to a manageable level, Liam raced off and did it all again, to his great amusement!!!! That's two year olds for you.

The hunt is on! Next to Liam is Hudson who is a day older than Liam,
he's Jacki's sister Sally's son.

Yummy Mummies Night Out

While Zane wallowed on the couch with his A-grade hangover last night, I had a Girls Night Out with my mother's group friends. We went to Sitar's Indian Restaurant at Albion. Cimone was up from Canberra, very exciting. Tracey is moving to Singapore next month, so it was a bit of a send-off for her.
L to R: Kate, Cimone, Katherine, Emma, Leah, me and Tracey
Toby's 7th birthday party

Toby's birthday fell on Good Friday this year and we had a yummy roast pork dinner round at the Masons house to celebrate, followed up by a delicious pavlova laden down with strawberries, cream and chocolate chips - yummo. Liam was very excited because he got to stay up well past the usual 7.00 bed time, and he made the most of it! We finally managed to get both boys asleep at around 9.00. Phew! Things heated up after that, with the wine and scotch flowing and late night swims all round, followed up by a session on the Abba Singstar (sorry neighbours!!). It was a very late night and everyone had very sore heads in the morning!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone and I hope you are all having a lovely relaxing long weekend with your loved ones.
This morning Zane, Liam, James and I went to the Redcliffe Festival of Sails to help send off the yachts in the annual Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race. We got there a bit late but did manage to catch the tail-enders making their way across Moreton Bay, and we stayed long enough to force down an Afghanistan-style sausage (very spicy).
It's been a very busy week so we are looking forward to a bit of R&R this weekend. It's Toby's birthday today and we have been invited over to the Masons for dinner tonight to help celebrate the big event, looking forward to it.
If you zoom in to the picture of James above, you might be able to see his two front teeth which have now made their grand appearance!
