Sorry it has taken us so long to get a blog on after our holiday to Phuket last month, but I'm sure, dear reader, that you know how it is with two small children (and a workaholic husband) to look after!!!
We had a fab time in Phuket last month - we stayed for a week and a half and the reason for our holiday was Zane's cousin Sarah was marrying Tim. There were 32 people at the wedding - very impressive for an overseas wedding! and it was just beautiful. Chae was a flower girl - wasn't she gorgeous! And Sarah was absolutely radiant. It was one of the loveliest weddings I think I have ever been to, very laidback and relaxed, but also very thoughtfully planned out and well organised. The vows were exchanged on the beachfront and the reception was also on the beach - one lovely huge table, on the sand, laden down with the delights of the Thai cuisine. Liam and James had a babysitter that night so for once Zane I let our hair down! A definite highlight of the night was "krumping" with the girls on the dance floor to Beyonce's latest song ... if you don't know what krumping is, it's basically lots of high speed boob and bum jiggling!!!
The resort we stayed in was fantastic, with lots of pools and restaurants and it was right on a beautiful beach with white sand and crystal clear water. The food was scrumptious - I am a Thai food convert! Poor Zane has been enduring my haphazard attempts to recreate the delicate fusions of Thai flavours for dinner nearly every night since we got home ... with mixed success!! ... I think he is craving a good old fashioned roast or shepherd's pie after all the asian food I have been serving up.
The kids travelled really well and there were no disasters - a nice change! No one got sick and the flights there and back were pretty good. We might even do it again!
