Twin Waters weekend away

We had a long weekend up at Twin Waters a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. It must be time for the seven-year-itch!!!

We arrived on Saturday afternoon, after a (disastrous - don't ask) swimming lesson for Liam in the morning, and bunkered down while the wind and rain howled around us outside. Just the right sort of weather for a bit of movie watching and drinking / eating the night away.

The next morning we awoke to a gloriously blue, cloudless sky and the mercury rising to around 30 degrees. Nice. We headed off to our local cafe, The Lounging Lizard, and had brekky with our friends Jason, Juanita and their kids Alex who is three months older than Liam, and Monique who is about 12 months. It was great to catch up with them. Afterwards the boys let off some steam at the playground across the road and then we headed back to the village for a relaxing day by the pool.

We thought we would be very adventurous and headed out for dinner (how scandalous!!) to the restaurant on the other side of the lagoon, I think it's called Nouveaux. They have a buffet. I don't know why they let Liam in for free because he ate more than Zane and I combined!!!! He loves a good buffet. James grizzled a bit but overall he is quite a pleasant dinner companion.

The following day was more sunshine, so after a bbq breakfast of bacon and eggs, we popped our cozzies on and headed over to the activities area and did a spot of kayaking, digging in the sand and swimming. Liam has been eyeing off a huge blow up tyre thingy they have out on the water but isn't quite daring enough to get on it yet ... that might be a project for our next visit.
